What to expect at your first appointment:
Generally, none of these movements are painful, however if you are in acute pain, your therapist may ask you to demonstrate what positions and movements reproduce or exacerbate your pain a little. At the conclusion of your first massage, your therapist will suggest a treatment plan to see you reaching your goals. Some people only require the occasional massage to relax and loosen up, whereas those who regularly participate in high-intensity exercise or impact sports may find that a regular massage be it weekly or fortnightly help them stay in top condition.
If you are under the care of one of Back to Active Physiotherapists, Osteopaths or practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine, or have been training with one of our partner instructors or personal trainers, your therapist will communicate with them so that all training sessions and treatments are working towards a common goal.
